Bateman's was Rudyard Kipling's family home & it remains today has he new it in 1902.

Petworth
Petworth was for many years the home of the percy family, the Earls of Northumberland. It is best known for it's art works by Van Dyck, Turner, Reynolds & Gainsborough but for me the wood carvings by Grinling Gibbons outshone everything else.

Sutton Hoo
Excavations were started here in 1939 to explore the burial mounds. The largest burial mound, that of an Anglo Saxon king was found complete with it's treasures.
